My journey from displacement to coming home to myself taught me that home is something we create—through intentional design, grace, and connection.

That’s why I built Imah, inspired by my belief in courageous hospitality.

In different languages, Imah means both “home” and “mother”. Imah fosters meaningful connections among people by offering thoughtfully designed décor and conversation pieces that encourage shared experiences and interactions, making it easier to build relationships through intentional design. 

Through hospitality and design, I believe that we can set the table for something beautiful—together.                           

Home is wherever you feel most safe, loved, protected, and inspired. It isn’t always the most well-decorated space.

It’s the place you remember where everything is – and can go to search within, where you feel comfortable looking with your eyes and hands.

At home.

It’s where the walls tell the stories in your nervous system better than you ever could.

It’s where love is made, hearts are broken, mended, and great expectations live.

The place within you can’t outrun – yet journey to from time to time. No matter how long or short the distance.

Home is that gut feeling that gives you a sigh of relief or what instructs you to keep it moving.

That sweet aroma.

The sounds that make you flinch.

The reminders of why you aspire.

The duality of then and now. The liminal space. The meantime.

The first place each of us is home (imah) is in our mother's (ema) womb.

While I cannot invite you back there, Imah is an invitation back home to yourself. No matter your upbringing, background, or relationship to home, all are welcome.

Imah is being built to help people redefine and redesign the meaning of home as we know it in community with others, individually, and ritually by centering conversation, etiquette, and design.
